the great outdoors

   Who can forget the leech scene in the boat…ridiculously funny.  I truly love this movie.  It’s simple and silly comedy about a family with ” issues and dysfunctions “  who go on a family trip and spend it in the great outdoors (cabins, fishing, bears, and talking racoons…the whole deal) .  It’s about things that can go wrong and probably will, coming of age, and setting  aside personal differences and grudges.  John Candy makes this movie so enjoyable and in my opinion is the whole reason why the film works.  It’s not a masterpiece and it doesn’t have to be.  It’s fun!

  Brilliant berries, crisp salad, a zesty sandwich and an Arnold Palmer beverage:  Judy made a lovely lunch today and the conversations went on for two hours.

  Becky bet it wouldn’t fit so she ran out to watch him. Eddie loaded up the  2nd rocker into my car, only after he removed the head rest.

Rockin’ Chair Numero 1

  A closefriend gave me a rocking chair.  One of two she has been wanting to give to a good home.  I’ll pick-up the other chair next week when I see her again.  This one needs some sanding and some new stain and varnish but the structure is sound.   It puts a smile on my face when I look at it because I know where it came from….it’s special.

 Trying to start some flowers.  It’s bachellor’s buttons and some chives; I think.

 I picked several limes that were ready.  There are still many more on the tree that are not quite ripe enough yet.
